Alex Hay hit a hat-trick as fifth placed Cheltenham maintained the division's only unbeaten record with a 3-0 home win over second from bottom Whitchurch at Balcarras.
Experienced Hay, 32, fired Tom Cole's all blacks ahead after 12 minutes then made it 2-0 at half time following a 33rd minute penalty corner.
Six goals in six games Hay completed his trick in the 47th minute from open play.
Tim Davenport tops the scoring charts with eight goals following his late double as table toppers Team Bath Buccaneers rallied from going behind in the fifth minute to beat University of Birmingham 3-1.
George Farrant's 26th minute penalty corner strike cancelled out Matthew Pacey's quick opener.
Davenport's double came on 66 and 69 minutes as Buccs got back on the winning track.
Nick Cooper scored twice (11, 45pc) as University of Exeter edged above Guildford into third place by beating their hosts 2-0 while second placed Cardiff & UWIC lost 2-0 at home to Havant.
Dan Nicoll scored from a last minute penalty as Firebrands claimed their first point since promotion with a 2-2 draw at Fareham. Ben Trembath scored Brands 22nd minute opener, two minutes after James Seager's penalty had put the home side ahead.
Fareham top scorer Alex Boxall made it 2-1 in the 38th minute with his fifth of the term.
