University of Exeter host leaders Guildford in the Men's Conference West match of the day next Sunday (1230).
Guildford, on 31, have a three-point advantage over second placed Exeter, who led three times at fourth placed Team Bath Buccaneers before Tom Griffiths' 69th minute strike levelled the game 3-3.
Guildford warmed up for Sunday's title test with a 5-3 home win over basement side Firebrands, which sealed the Bristol club's relegation, while third placed Cardiff & UWIC won 5-1 at Fareham.
Only four points separate the top four with four rounds remaining. Prepare for a roller coaster run-in.
Edwards Matts (22) top scorer Andrew Ross (46) and South African Olympian Ian Haley (62) put Exeter ahead at Bath, where Matt Ruxton (45) Ben Carless (49pc) and Griffiths pegged the Devon side back.
Luke Hawker (19) Richard Howson (35 62pc) and Dafydd Tomos (36, 38) scored for Cardiff, level on 28 points with Exeter and a match in hand - eltaffico - against Whitchurch still to be confirmed.
Whitchurch skipper Tom Fisher put them ahead from a 41st minute penalty corner against University of Birmingham, who levelled with two minutes remaining.
Will Pearce (18ps) Alex Salmon (37) and James Legg (58) scored for Cheltenham as they drew 3-3 at home to Havant to end a four match losing sequence and claim their first point of 2013.
Eighth placed Whitchurch host ninth placed Cheltenham on Sunday, both sides are on 14 points before the game.
Michael Blair (30 41) and Tom Atkinson (64pc) scored for Brands at Guildford.
