Exe boast the only 100 per cent West Clubs Women’s Hockey League Premier 1 record following a 7-1 win at seventh placed Yate.

Clifton Robinsons 2 are the only other unbeaten top flight side after four rounds and the first month of the new regional women’s season.

Lorel Wallis scored the first of her hat-trick after 30 seconds as Exe sped to a 5-0 half time lead in South Gloucestershire.

Emily Mitchem also claimed a hat-trick with Sarah Payne scoring Exe's fourth goal.

Clifton, who beat Plymouth Marjon 7-1 on the opening day, were held to a 1-1 round three draw by Lydney following a 9-1 round two win at Isca 2.

Clifton warmed up for next Saturday’s Bristol derby at Firebrands with a 5-0 home win over Newent.

Brands are fourth following a 2-1 win at Isca while Lydney again drew 1-1, with Cheltenham.

Bristol University are third following a 3-1 win at Plymouth, whose scorer was Ruby Westhead.

Promoted Teign, beaten 1-0 by Taunton Vale, and Plymouth seek their first points of the season.
