Exeter University face two must-win England Hockey play-off games next weekend if they want to win promotion back to the Men’s Premier Division.
The Conference West champions were beaten 2-1 by Notttingham University in their play-off opener in Nottingham yesterday despite taking a 12th minute lead through Sam Hooper following a penalty corner.
Adam Laitt hit the 55th minute penalty corner winner after Luke Hudson levelled from a 39th minute field goal.
Exeter play Sevenoaks next Saturday (1200) and Oxted on Sunday (1100) at Birmingham University. Sevenoaks beat Oxted 3-2 in Nottingham yesterday.
