Yes I know there were men and women's premier division games last week but - for most - the league season starts for real this weekend with games across all national league divisions.
The great thing about all levels of hockey is all games are free to see.
I keep bleating on (on twitter) how the best things in life are free.
When it's top flight national league hockey - featuring international players at the top of their game?
Few other sports can boast such an exciting opportunity.
Unfortunately some games being played on university campus pitches are out of bounds to spectators but not all.
If games are not being played "behind closed doors" and you are playing at any level of hockey below national league I can thoroughly recommend trying to catch a match.
You will be warmly welcomed (at a safe distance).
You won't be disappointed.
