If I had a pound for every time I've told people all hockey – national and regional league, men and women’s – is FREE TO SEE would be on way to first million.

Tonight a top national league Bristol derby will kick off this weekend’s free to see hockey programme. 

England Hockey Men’s Conference West table topping Bristol University host cross-city rivals Clifton Robinsons at Coombe Dingle Pitch 1 at 1930.

The promotion-focused University side are three wins on the spin, following last Sunday’s impressive 3-1 success at Plymouth Marjon and back to back home wins over Isca (3-1) and Cheltenham (5-0).

To add spice to tonight’s Bristol hockey derby sixth placed Robbies upset promotion-chasing Fareham 2-1 at Clifton College last Sunday to end a run of three defeats.
