ISCA HOCKEY MEN

Top scorer Jamie Cooke scored twice as Isca completed their men's regional N4 League Premier One programme with a 2-2 draw at third placed Cardiff & UWIC.

The result meant the Exeter based side finished seventh in the men's regional top flight - just seven points behind their final day hosts.

Captain Jonathan James said: "This result was a good end to what has been a positive season for Isca.

"Having had a poor start to the season the team has picked up with new young players such as Jason and Liam Wakefield, Neil Hutchings and Chris Mason bedding into the team.

"Isca have looked dangerous in attack with leading goalscorer Jamie Cooke and James Bainbridge proving a real threat.

"They have been backed up by an impressive defence with James Bower in midfield and defenders Andy Buller and Duncan Akers combining well with goal keeper Keith McClure to provide a strong spine to the team.

"The squad still has the Devon Cup final to play at the end of April but is already looking forward to next season, when the club is looking to strengthen this squad and improve on this season in order to achieve its ambition of promotion back to the national league."

Isca A finished sixth in South One.
