RUGBY UNION Bristol opportunity to open up gap at top

Gallagher Premiership logoBristol top the Premiership by two points with a game in hand following Exeter Chiefs second defeat in a week, 25-20 at Sale last night.

Sale's win moves them up to third, just above fourth placed Harlequins, with both on 32 points. 

Bristol start the day on 37 points, Exeter on 35.

Today leaders Bristol host Leicester at Ashton Gate in the one o'clock kick off, Quins visit Newcastle (1500ko). 

Reigning champions Exeter will be hoping to turn their form around when they welcome back their internationals for next Saturday's round 12 trip to Bath.

Tomorrow 10th placed Bath visit fifth placed Northampton, who edged to a 13-12 win at Exeter last Saturday.

Basement side Gloucester - with one win in 10 - host second from bottom Worcester at 1515 today.
