Exeter Chiefs’ new Australian international arrival Dean Mumm has completed his cross the world journey to Sandy Park.
After eight Super Rugby seasons in Sydney with Waratahs, the imposing Wallabies forward is looking forward to tackling the Aviva Premiership and Heineken Cup double challenge head-on with Chiefs.
Mumm, 28, says: “I’m really excited to get here at last and meet (head coach) Rob Baxter and everyone. It has taken quite a while, and being here was more of an idea. Now it's reality.
“The time had come to try something new and the Premiership is one of the top competitions in the world.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, and it’s going to be a real challenge for me. That challenge is the reason I came here.
“Right now I’m a bit green to everything, but that is what excites me the most. I had a great time with the Waratahs. Growing up as a kid in Sydney that was the team I wanted to play for, so to do that was a very proud moment for me.
“I got to play with some great blokes in some fantastic stadiums, but now it’s right to approach something new.
"I wanted to get out of any comfort zone I had in Sydney and coming here will do that and hopefully make me an even better player.”
