LEADERS NEXT UP AT TEAM BATH NETBALL

team bath logoTeam Bath will be hoping for third time lucky and an upset when they host pace setters Surrey Storm in Friday evening’s Fiat Netball Superleague clash at the University of Bath Sports Training Village.

Jess Garland’s new-look Bath side lost 55-45 at home to Northern Thunder last night following an opening 61-49 league defeat at Celtic Dragons in Cardiff.

Surrey have made a storming start to the season with big wins over Loughborough Lightning (66-38) and at Hertfordshire Mavericks (62-47).

Coach Garland experimented with a number of combinations last night as her side showed flashes of brilliance but also inexperience.

Garland explained: “This early in the season we need to know what options there are. Some of the combinations we tried were not as cohesive as others but against a side like Thunder - who are tipped to finish in the top four - we had to use the opportunity to get more players out on court.”

Bath trailed 16-9 following the first quarter, 30-22 at half time and 46-30 after the third quarter.
