Slough, Horsford, Great and Little Tew CC and Furness CC will be the venues for the first National Counties T20 Super 12s on Sunday May 19.

Eight counties were eliminated from the competition following the group stage which concluded on Monday with the remaining 12 counties now being split between the four venues that have been chosen to host the Super 12s.

Staffordshire have been given an unexpected second chance to defend their National Counties T20 title after Northumberland were disqualified from the Super 12 stage for a breach of the competition rules.

Staffordshire thought their defence was over almost before it had begun after they suffered a second double washout against Cumbria at Carlisle on Monday.

George Hargrave wrote another chapter in Shropshire’s record books with a spectacular century that clinched their place in the new Super 12 stage of the National Counties T20 competition.

Hargrave made 129 from just 44 balls to take Shropshire to an eight wickets victory over Wales NC in the second match of their double-header at St Asaph.
