Plymouth Argyle manager Steven Schumacher praised his side for “keeping going until the final minute” as they beat top of the table rivals Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 to remain at the League One summit.

Schumacher admitted: “It was very tight I thought it was probably the toughest game we have had this year.”

Substitute Sam Cosgrove’s stoppage time winner ensured Steven Schumacher's four-wins-on-the-spin Argyle stay top of League 1 following a thrilling success against third placed Wednesday on Tuesday. 

Exciting on-loan Birmingham City targetman Cosgrove looked to have scored in front of a rammed Devonport End in the 87th minute when his header to meet a far-post Conor Grant cross from the left smashed off the underside of the bar and appeared to cross the goal-line.

The game looked to be heading for a draw when Toulson collected a cross from Tylor Love-Holmes, swivelled and hit a fierce shot into the net to launch wild celebrations on and off the pitch.
