Wales NC today take a three-day match to Panteg CC in Griffithstown for the first time having switched their Western Division Two match against Wiltshire from Usk.Wales have previously used Panteg for white ball matches and the ground was used as a home venue by Monmouthshire in the Minor Counties Championship, the last time in 1932.

All-rounder Sam Griffiths will make his first appearance for Wales NC in four years in today’s National Counties Trophy quarter-final against defending champions Berkshire at the Falkland club in Newbury.Griffiths, who plays his club cricket for Neath, was a regular for Wales between 2012 and 2018 but family commitments have since ruled him out of selection.

Jonny Cater will have twin aims when Oxfordshire host Suffolk in the quarter-finals of the National Counties Trophy at Banbury today: to take his side one step closer to a second title of the season and to improve his prospects of becoming the competition’s Most Valuable Player.Cater has already led Oxfordshire to the National Counties T20 title this season to add to the National Counties Championship they won last September.
