Slough, Horsford, Great and Little Tew CC and Furness CC will be the venues for the first National Counties T20 Super 12s on Sunday May 19.

Eight counties were eliminated from the competition following the group stage which concluded on Monday with the remaining 12 counties now being split between the four venues that have been chosen to host the Super 12s.

The Durant Cricket National Counties Championship is set for an exciting end to the regular season with five of the six main issues still to be resolved going into this weekend’s final round of matches.  

Only the Western Division Two title, which has already been won by Cornwall to secure promotion to the top-flight next season, has been settled with three counties still in the running for each of the Eastern Division One and Two and Western Division One titles.

Staffordshire have been given an unexpected second chance to defend their National Counties T20 title after Northumberland were disqualified from the Super 12 stage for a breach of the competition rules.

Staffordshire thought their defence was over almost before it had begun after they suffered a second double washout against Cumbria at Carlisle on Monday.

Cornwall clinched promotion to the top-flight of the Durant Cricket National Counties Championship by winning the Western Division Two title following a draw against Wales NC at Abergavenny. 

Cornwall sit out this weekend’s final round of matches but yesterday's nine points were enough to confirm top spot and deny Wales and both Wiltshire and Dorset – who drew at the South Wilts club in Salisbury – the opportunity to overtake them.

Devon are reaping early rewards from their decision to invest in youth with a surprise appearance in Sunday’s Durant Cricket National Counties Championship play-off final against Buckinghamshire at West Bromwich Dartmouth. 

Having been promoted as Western Division Two champions 12 months ago, Devon clinched the Western Division One title on a rollercoaster final day of the regular season by beating Herefordshire at Sidmouth while Cheshire did them a favour by beating Oxfordshire at Banbury.

Buckinghamshire may have emerged as the surprise package of this season’s Durant Cricket National Counties Championship but their success is not entirely unexpected.

Having won all four of their matches in Eastern Division Two last year to secure promotion, Buckinghamshire have beaten Norfolk and Staffordshire in their first two Division One matches this season and they head to Chesham for the visit of Lincolnshire on Sunday aiming to maintain their unbeaten run.
