Torquay United boss Martin Ling is confident target man Rene Howe will be fit to start against in-form Burton Albion at Plainmoor on Saturday (1500ko).
Striker Howe – also in form after scoring his fourth of the season in Tuesday’s 1-0 win at AFC Wimbledon – jarred his knee during the game and is not training today.
Neither is Ian Morris but Ling is confident both will be fit to face the free scoring Brewers.
The United boss said: “Rene has a sore knee and as a precaution won’t train today nor will Ian but that is an on-going groin soreness, which is getting better all the time.
“We fully expect both of them to be ready for Saturday so that just leaves us with Damon Lathrope and Saul Halpin unavailable out of the 24-man squad.”
Cornish winger Halpin has been ruled out by an ankle injury while defensive midfielder Lathrope is well along the road to recovery following a knee injury.
