AMATEUR GOLF Hall and Li competing in Portugal

England golf logoEngland Boys internationals Harry Hall and Jamie Li are set to tee off at the Portugese Amateur Championship at Montado Golf Resort in Palmela today.

West Cornwall Golf Club's Hall, 17, is the reigning Welsh Youths Open champion. Last year he represented England Golf in the Irish Boys Open and the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, finishing equal eighth.

JUNIOR GOLF Tinsley and Pope give Devon hope

Yorkshire play Staffordshire today for the 2012 English Boys county team title at Cotswold Hills Golf Club in Gloucestershire.

Both teams have – as anticipated – won their opening two matches with pre-tournament favourites Yorkshire overcoming Devon 6-3 yesterday despite resilient back-to-back wins for Ryan Pope and Jacob Tinsley.

2012 McGREGOR TROPHY TEES OFF AT TREVOSE

The 2012 English Boys Under 16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the McGregor Trophy has teed off at Trevose Golf & Country Club.

Northumberland’s Jack Hermeston, the young City of Newcastle ace won the 72 holes championship by four shots a year ago, finishing seven under on 281 at South Moor, in Durham.

SOUTH WEST TRIO IN EGU 18 TRAINING SQUAD

The EGU has invited 21 players under the age of 18 to form its boys training squad for the winter months and 2012, many of whom have already represented England at international level.
