Clifton Ladies host ninth placed Bowdon Hightown on Saturday seeking to build on a 2-0 Premier Division win at University of Birmingham in eighth.

Georgie Twigg – 21 yesterday – celebrated with a pre-birthday goal in the 38^th minute after Aileen Davis had fired Fleur Horner's Clifton ahead following a 14^th minute penalty corner.

Clifton are fourth in the top flight at the halfway stage of the season and ahead of Saturday’s match at Coombe Dingle (1130).

Isca University slipped to fourth in the Women’s Conference West following a surprise 2-1 defeat at Team Bath Buccaneers.

Amy Sheehan fired the blues into a 30^th minute lead, which they maintained until the 51^st minute, when Jessica Cremin levelled for the home side.

Despite having to cope with intense Isca pressure, Buccs gained only their second win of the season – and their first at home - when Dani Black scored two minutes from time.

Zoe Shipperley, Beth Stainsby and keeper Mandy Ferebee were outstanding in defence for Buccs, who now visit leaders Buckingham.

Exe are at home to sixth placed Barnes Hounslow Ealing following a 4-0 defeat at unbeaten leaders Buckingham while BHE drew 2-2 at Firebrands, whose scorers were Lily Oswley (29) and Georgie Field (53).

Isca host Brands on Saturday (University Sports Park 1230) while Exe host BHE (St Luke's Science & Sports College 1300).

Third placed Gloucester City host basement side Staines (1200) following a 3-1 win at Trojans and goals for Kim Pullon (6pc, 37) and Corinne Bury (63).

Second placed Swansea are at home to Trojans (1200) following their 4-1 win over Staines thanks to penalty corner goals by Natalie Blyth (17), Sophie Clayton (26) and Beth Fisher (55) before Carys Hopkins' lasy minute penalty conversion.
