Somerset's Richard Mantell clocked up a special century for England yesterday when he played in the men’s 2011 Rabo Four Nations Cup 2-2 opening draw with Pakistan in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
Established Great Britain defender Mantell, 29, has now won 100 caps for England, scoring 46 times.

Newly promoted Exeter & Culm Vale Hornets begin life in the 2011-2012 Davis Wood Hockey League top flight at Plymouth Marjon on Saturday October 1.
Hornets, runners-up to Premier Two champions University of Exeter B, play their first Premier One match at UCP Marjon and then face a tough first home test against University of Exeter A at St James School on the second Saturday of the new 2011-2012 season, October 8.

The Plymouth Primary Schools Mixed Hockey Festival has been granted the Inspire Mark - the badge of the London 2012 Inspire Programme – as the festival celebrates its 10th year.
This year's mixed hockey festival takes place today and tomorrow at University College Plymouth St Mark & St John (UCP Marjon) and will involve 60 primary school teams from the region.

Isca seconds bid to complete a dream end of season double when they meet holders Teign in the Devon Women’s Hockey Cup final at University of Exeter on Saturday at 1.00pm.
Having already clinched the West Clubs Women’s League Premier Two title, and promotion to the regional top flight, Isca now bid to beat Dawlish-based Teign, seeking a hat-trick of county cup final successes having finished South Division runners-up.

Promotion-chasing University of Exeter recorded their 10th successive England Hockey League win, overcoming Bournville 3-0, to stretch their lead at the Men’s Conference West summit.
With two league games remaining, the Exeter students – captained by Exmouth’s Olly Deasy – are five points clear of second placed TeamBath Buccaneers, who lost 3-2 at sixth placed Whitchurch.
