Simmonds hat-trick as Exeter ease to opening win

Sam Simmonds scored a hat-trick of tries as Exeter Chiefs began their Premiership Rugby title defence in emphatic style with a 33-3 win at Harlequins.

Simmonds got the ball rolling in the first half to put Exeter 7-3 up at the break.

Dave Ewers and Stuart Townsend also scored second half tries as Chiefs raced ahead.

Joe Simmonds, who set up and converted his brother's superb first half solo try, added a further three conversions in the second half.
