TEAM NEWS Shanahan makes first Albion start

Plymouth albion rfc logoPlymouth player-coach James Shanahan makes his first Albion start against Nottingham in tomorrow's British & Irish Cup opener at Brickfields (1945).

Head coach Shanahan - a late replacement in last Friday's 22-20 Championship defeat by London Scottish - takes over from top points scorer Dan Mugford at fly half.

Others starting for Albion the first time this season are full back Louis Messer and Plymouth-born dual registered Exeter Chiefs wing Jack Arnott, 20.

Fit-again Lewis Warner - returning from an ankle injury – wings in on the left.

Matt Shields, who joined Albion from Nottingham in summer, starts at prop.
Lock Harrison Tovey and fly half Declan Cusack, who both picked up injuries in pre-season, are named on the bench.
