SWSN is five years old today!

Six years ago - when I started the SWSN snowball rolling - I could never imagine typing that, especially as I give much-vaunted five-year plans short shrift.

I like to think we are on-the-ball at SWSN and have the ability to change our game plan at a moment's notice, just like the top players and winning teams.

Ever-evolving SWSN is entering another exciting new phase just like when our design team at bluestone360 developed the new-look website, now with an amazing interactive, pro-active and supportive twitter following of 4,000-plus.

Who says we are not passionate about sports in South West England and South Wales?

SWSN is set to announce a new partnership to celebrate our fifth year. More about this over the coming weeks but it's safe to say the new team-up will drive a certain regional sport further to the fore than ever before this summer.

In the meantime I would like to thank our flagship sponsors – University of Exeter High Performance Sport, Michael Spiers exclusive jewellers and Plymouth’s University of St Luke & St John – for their unflagging support.

Like all top sports teams SWSN has a support team of coaches, physios, sponsors and fellow sports journalists that would be the envy of the very best in the game. I think they are the very best.

They are highly valued friends and doubtless you will see them mentioned week-in, week-out if you track @swsportsnews on twitter.

Without them SWSN would not be entering our sixth season.

Without my family and friends' support SWSN would not be the sports hub it is today.

Without you – amazing sportspeople driving my passion on a daily, sometimes hourly basis – there would be no SWSN sports hub.

My wife always reminds me "keep it simple Ross".

So thank you, one and all.

And here's to SWSN year six...
