Asha Francis was delighted to see her players’ “freedom and faith” rewarded with a first away win of the 2023 Super League season as Team Bath Netball came out on top in a close contest with Saracens Mavericks.

The Haines Watts-sponsored Blue & Gold and their old rivals went goal for goal in front of the Sky Sports cameras, with just a couple of goals separating the sides for much of the contest, before clinically pulling away in the closing minutes to win 57-54.

Staffordshire showed their adaptability to win the National Counties T20 competition for the first time in an intriguing Finals Day at Tring Park.

Having made the highest-ever Finals Day total - 252 for two - to beat a much-fancied Berkshire in their semi-final, Staffordshire had to be resilient to edge out fellow first-time finalists Cornwall by four runs in a low-scoring but compelling finale.

The two most successful sides in the history of National – formerly Minor – Counties cricket will go head-to-head in the first semi-final at this year’s Finals Day at Tring Park today (1000). 

Until last August Staffordshire were the most successful side with 15 titles across all formats but Berkshire drew level when they won the National Counties Trophy at Wormsley then overtook them when they collected their 16^th piece of silverware by regaining the National Counties Championship title by virtue of their first innings lead against Lincolnshire in a rain-ravaged final.
