Clifton Ladies Hockey Club are set to visit unbeaten Conference East leaders Surbiton in the Women’s Cup semi-final on March 25 following a successful double win weekend.
The Bristol-based Investec Women’s Hockey League side followed up Saturday’s 3-0 Premier Division win at Slough with a home 4-0 quarter final cup win over Chelmsford yesterday.

University of Exeter are set to resume their England Hockey League Men’s Premier Division campaign at home to Nottingham side Beeston today (University of Exeter Sports Park 1230).
Exeter start the second half of the season – following the midwinter, mid-season break – seeking to move off the bottom of the top flight.

The top women’s hockey team in the region, Clifton Ladies, are set to play their first Investec national league match of 2012 when they host Canterbury (Coombe Dingle Sports Complex 1130) tomorrow.
Bristol-based Clifton side are fifth in the Women’s Premier Division four points behind third placed Canterbury, who edged the mid-October meeting in Kent 2-1.

The overnight arrival of frost caused a number of postponements in the men and women’s regional league hockey programmes at the weekend.

Great Britain women are through to the annual Champions Trophy final for the first time.
Goals from Slough’s Ashleigh Ball – whose hometown is Cheltenham – and Welsh ace Sarah Thomas enabled team GB to beat Germany 2-0 in last night’s semi-final in Rosario, Argentina.

Cheltenham A have moved up to second in Davis Wood Hockey League Premier Division Three following a 4-4 home draw with Firebrands A.
The point enables Cheltenham to edge above third placed Taunton Vale A and close the gap on leaders University of Exeter C to three points ahead of next Saturday’s full programme.
