cornwall cricket creastCornwall's Tom Rowe scored his maiden century as Cornwall made 223 all out before lunch in the second day of their Minor Counties Championship Western Division match at home to Herefordshire at Truro Cricket Club.


Herefordshire opener Dave Exall (111) and Chris Boroughs (113) both hit afternoon session centuries as the visitors looked set for a big lead at tea.


However Andrew Libby took six for 58 to restrict Herefordshire's total to 305 and a lead of 82 runs.


Cornwall then sensationally lost their first three wickets for just two runs. Opener Taylor Williams is still in on 32 not out with first innings centurion Rowe (22 not out) as the home side scrambled to 59-3 off 19 overs to trail by 23 runs at the close.


The third and final day's play resumed at Boscawen Park this morning with Rowe going on to make 69 while skipper Tom Sharp was unbeaten on 138 as Cornwall declared at 323-8, leaving the visitors chasing 242 to win.

The Mining Division Evening League final between Crofty-Holman and Perran-ar-worthal is set to take place at Camborne Cricket Club tonight (1800 start).
