NOON START FOR CORNWALL CRICKETERS

cornwall cricket logo Two of tomorrow’s top ECB Cornwall Premier League games have early start times to allow Cornwall players extra time to travel to Henley for Cornwall’s Minor Counties Championship opener, which starts on Sunday.

 

Troon v leaders Truro and Grampound Road v Callington are set to begin at noon, an hour earlier than the usual 1300 start.

Cornwall broke their highest one-day score record for the second time this year in yesterday’s MCCA Trophy game against Wiltshire at Redruth.

 

The Duchy made 347-5 in their 50 overs with Kevin Parsons making 98, Dan Davis 59, Matt Robins 51 and Matt Rowe 42 not out.

Yesterday’s Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League bank holiday action saw wins for Callington, St Austell, St Just and Truro.

 

Defending champions Paul were dismissed for only 99 at home to Callington, who won by eight wickets after reaching 103-2 in 30.4 overs.

There were Francis Clark Devon League top flight wins for defending champions Sidmouth, Plymouth and Budleigh Salterton yesterday.
