Exe head into tomorrow’s Exeter derby at Isca on a five-match winning streak and top of the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League by two points.
Gemma Barnett’s unbeaten table-toppers will be full of confidence following a 6-0 Devon derby win over Premier One basement side Plymouth Marjon while Isca 2 were beaten 4-0 at Bristol University after trailing 1-0 at half time.
Lorel Wallis 2, Anna-Mae Morton 2 , Bess Menheneott and Kelly Luscombe scored for Exe against point-less Plymouth, who host Teign.
Promoted Teign celebrated their first Premier 1 win, 3-1 at over visitors Yate, thanks to goals by midfielder Ellie Brooks (pc) and forwards Laura Tranchant and Jackie Brooks, who both scored from open play.
Clifton Robinsons 2 play their second Bristol derby in a week following a 4-1 win at Firebrands. Tomorrow Clifton host Bristol University in a second versus third clash at Badminton School (1500).
Cheltenham start the weekend fourth ahead of their trip to Gloucestershire rivals Yate following a 5-3 home win over Taunton Vale, who visit Lydney. The Foresters are fresh from a 2-1 win at Newent.
