Devon have taken control of their NCCA Cluberly Championship Western Division title decider against Wiltshire at the South Wilts club in Salisbury.

Devon dropped one batting point when they were dismissed for 310 in their first innings but it was the only blemish on a near-perfect day as their bowlers then routed Wiltshire for 92 to secure four more valuable bonus points.

Cornwall secured the NCCA Cluberly Western Division Two title and will replace Herefordshire in the top flight of the competition next season after a dramatic last day in the penultimate round of matches.

Cornwall beat Cheshire by ten wickets at Redruth and were confirmed as Second Division winners after Dorset lost by 41 runs to Shropshire at Whitchurch.

Wiltshire pushed Berkshire to the brink of their first defeat in four years in the NCCA Cluberly Championship on a dramatic second day at Henley.

A career-best 158 from opener Jack Mynott helped Wiltshire to establish a useful first innings lead of 69 before Berkshire slumped to 118 for nine in their second innings, just 49 ahead.

Seamer James Rudge and batter Henry Hardinges produced career-best performances to help Herefordshire enjoy one of their best days of a challenging season against Oxfordshire at Thame in Western Division One of the NCCA Cluberly Championship.

First Rudge took six for 41 to dismiss Oxfordshire for 135 after Herefordshire captain Luke Tulacz had won the toss, then opening batter Hardinges made his maiden century in National Counties cricket to help Herefordshire establish a lead of   at the end of the first day.

COUNTIES CRICKET Devon through to T20 finals day

Devon, Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Staffordshire reached Finals Day of the National Counties T20 competition after they won their respective Super 12s competitions.

2003 champions Staffordshire eased to a seven wickets victory over Lincolnshire in the final – in effect a national quarter-final - at Wolverhampton with Bedfordshire winning by a similar margin at Sprowston to oust defending champions Norfolk.
