COUNTIES CRICKET Only 3 opening T20 matches beat rain

NCCA-Logo MasterHerefordshire made a flying start to the National Counties T20 competition by beating the weather and Wales NC twice in a rain-ravaged opening round of matches.

Play was possible at only three grounds – all of them in the South West – with 15 of the scheduled 20 matches being abandoned without a ball being bowled and another washed out at the halfway stage.

CORNWALL CRICKET League review, T20 county preview

Just eight of a potential 62 games were played over the second weekend of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League, following the opening weekend wipe-out.

With drier weather, the prospects look a little better for next weekend. Of the 67 League games scheduled 23 had been rescheduled and five cancelled leaving 39 games ‘live’ at the beginning of the week.

There is plenty to play for across the divisions of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League on the final full weekend of league fixtures.

Rosudgeon became the sixth divisional winner when they wrapped up the Division 5 West title last weekend but there are still seven divisions to decide.

COUNTIES CRICKET Bucks fizz in final against Devon

Buckinghamshire wrapped up their first Durant Cricket National Counties Championship since 2009 with a record-breaking 550 runs victory over Devon in the final at West Bromwich Dartmouth. 

The victory was the largest by runs margin in the history of the Championship, which began in 1895, although the previous record of 411 runs was set by Bedfordshire against Hertfordshire just two weeks ago.

COUNTIES CRICKET Sharma century boosts Bucks

Aadi Sharma’s superb maiden century put Buckinghamshire in control of the Durant Cricket National Counties Championship final against Devon at West Bromwich Dartmouth. 

The 17-year-old, who is on Northamptonshire’s Academy, made 115 from 153 balls in an innings of class and maturity that helped Buckinghamshire turn a handy first innings lead of 67 into an imposing one of 393 by the end of the second day.

COUNTIES CRICKET FINAL Bowlers dominate on day one

Buckinghamshire’s bowlers led the fightback after their batters had collapsed on an eventful opening day of the Durant Cricket National Counties Championship final against Devon at West Bromwich Dartmouth. 

Buckinghamshire slumped from 121 for two in the final over before lunch to 185 all out in their first innings, a total that would have been more meagre had Conner Haddow (13) and Tom Weymes (16 not out) not added 33 for the last wicket.
