MINOR COUNTIES Centuries for Herring and Thompson

Former Gloucestershire and Glamorgan wicketkeeper Cameron Herring made his maiden Minor Counties century for Wales against Oxfordshire at Usk.

Thanks to Herring Wales recovered from 107 for six to reach 260 all out with extras being the next highest scorer with 40. Northop Hall teenager Josh Andrady chipped in with 28 on his Wales debut.

MINOR MATTERS Minor Counties Championship preview

England Under-19 international Luke Hollman will make his debut for defending champions Berkshire in their Minor Counties Championship match against Cheshire at Finchampstead today (1100).

Hollman, a batsman/leg-spinner, is a member of the Middlesex Academy and will make his debut as part of Berkshire’s mutually-beneficial relationship with the first-class county.

MINOR MATTERS Wiltshire beat Cornwall by an innings

Ecb LogoWiltshire routed Cornwall by an innings inside two days at Corsham.

Despite beating Oxfordshire in their opening Minor Counties Championship match, Cornwall were shot out for 87 in their second innings and beaten by an innings and 74 runs.

MINOR COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP teams to beat...

Ecb LogoBerkshire and Lincolnshire made early statements of intent by completing emphatic two-day victories in the opening round of this season’s Minor Counties Championship.

The pair have contested the last three finals of the three-day competition and suggested that they will again be the teams to beat as Lincolnshire trounced Cumberland by ten wickets at Sleaford in the Eastern Division and defending champions Berkshire defeated Herefordshire by an innings and seven runs at Colwall in the Western Division.
