Memories of the 1-0 extra preliminary round replay defeat to neighbours Torpoint were quickly swept away as first half goals from Dave Youlden (19) and Sean Thomson (34) saw the Brook to their second win in the opening three games.

FA CupLiskeard Athletic’s first appearance in the FA Cup for 14 years ended abruptly as Western League side Shepton Mallet fought back from a goal down to win with some ease at Lux Park on Saturday.

When Dan Jennings fired home a sixth minute goal from a breakaway, the Blues looked on course for a cup upset and Jennings should have made it 2-0 four minutes before the end of a 45 minutes the home side dominated.
