Berkshire needed three things to go their way if they were to avoid missing out on the last eight for the first time since 2016. Firstly, they had to beat Bedfordshire at Southill Park, then they had to rely on Hertfordshire doing them a favour by beating Cornwall at North Mymms and, if both of those results happened, they also needed a significant swing in net run rate to oust Cornwall.

Defending Cornwall Premier League champions Penzance remain the only unbeaten team in the top flight after notching their fifth win on spin, at home to Redruth. Penzance are yet to drop a bonus point after bowling the Reds out for 196 in the 46th over. Toby Whiteford top scored with 52 and newcomer Simon Danby made 46.

Suffolk guaranteed passage from Group Three by beating Cambridgeshire by 27 runs at Exning, Northumberland held their nerve to defeat Oxfordshire by two wickets in a rain-affected match at Banbury to secure a top two finish in Group One and Wiltshire made it three wins out of three by beating Wales NC by six runs in another shortened contest at Warminster to do the same in Group Four.
