NATIONAL COUNTIES T20 round two round-up

NCCA-Logo MasterOxfordshire made it three straight National Counties T20 wins when they beat Wales NC by 34 runs in the first match at Wormsley but surrendered their unbeaten record when they were beaten by eight wickets in the second game of the day. 

Marcus Campopiano’s half century gave Oxfordshire the edge in the opener before Wales struggled against tight bowling and were dismissed for 98 with Harvey Jupp taking three for 16.

NATIONAL COUNTIES T20 opening round round-up

NCCA-Logo MasterOxfordshire again proved Berkshire’s nemesis as they recorded back-to-back wins in the opening round of National Counties T20 matches at the Falkland club in Newbury. 

Last season Oxfordshire ended Berkshire’s long unbeaten record in the National Counties Championship on their way to taking their three-day crown off them.

OXFORDSHIRE CCC National Counties cricket champions

Oxfordshire won the National Counties Championship for the first time in 32 years with a 178 runs victory over Suffolk in the final at Tring Park. 

Five wickets from slow left-armer Olly Clarke ended Suffolk’s resistance and meant that the title remained in the Western Division for a fifth consecutive season following four straight wins by Berkshire.

CRICKET MATTERS Oxfordshire have title in sights

NCCA-Logo MasterOxfordshire are closing in on their first National Counties Championship title since 1989 after dominating the third day of the four-day final against Suffolk at Tring. 

Solid batting down the order extended Oxfordshire’s lead to 346 despite the efforts of Suffolk captain, slow left-armer Jack Beaumont, who took five for 59.

CRICKET MATTERS Oxfordshire win Western Division

NCCA-Logo MasterSuffolk and Oxfordshire will meet in the final of the National Counties Championship at Tring Park on September 5-8 following a dramatic end to the last day of the regular season. 

Suffolk snatched the Eastern Division One title from the grasp of neighbours Norfolk after a record-breaking last wicket partnership between Adam Mansfield and Ben Claydon clinched an improbable one wicket win over Staffordshire at Copdock.

NATIONAL COUNTIES Championship day two round-up

NCCA-Logo MasterEuan Woods kept Berkshire in the hunt for a fifth straight National Counties Championship with a brilliant all-round performance in their Western Division One match against Cheshire at the Falkland club in Newbury. 

After Cheshire slow left-armer David Wainwright had returned his Championship-best figures of six for 38 to help dismiss Berkshire for 190 in their first innings, Woods then triggered a collapse which saw Cheshire lose their last seven wickets for 15 runs.
